Patient Room

There are 96 private patient rooms throughout the heart hospital – each designed for the comfort of patients and their families. There is plenty of visitor seating, a private bathroom, storage for personal items, a television and DVD player. Visiting hours are open; however, health care providers may limit visitation based on the patient’s medical condition and need for rest.

Our fourth floor chapel offers visitors of all faiths a quiet place for reflection and prayer, 24/7. There is a larger chapel in the main hospital building on the ground floor, where Mass is celebrated several times a week.

Noninvasive Cardiology

Noninvasive Cardiology

Getting the right treatment begins with a clear diagnosis. Mercy cardiologists use a variety of testing techniques to discover how your heart is performing. Many noninvasive tests are performed on the sixth floor of the heart hospital, including treadmill stress tests, EKGs, CT scans and more.

Echo Lab

The best way to diagnose certain heart conditions is to watch the heart in action. An echocardiogram is a simple, noninvasive test that uses sound waves to reveal images of your heart pumping in real time. The Echo Lab at the heart hospital is located on the sixth floor.

In our Noninvasive Vascular Lab, we provide testing for all types of vascular disorders – from stroke prevention and aneurysms to diseases of the veins and arteries. Testing is painless and is instrumental in helping your doctor formulate a treatment plan for your needs.

Hybrid Operating Room

Mercy Heart and Vascular Hospital has five operating rooms specially equipped for heart, lung and vascular surgeries. Our surgeons are among the most experienced in the area, performing bypass surgery, valve replacements, aneurysm and heart defect repair, vein treatments, stroke prevention and more.

Interventional Procedures

Patients with chest pain, high blood pressure or heart disease symptoms may require the care of an interventional cardiologist in our Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This area is also used by our interventional cardiologists and electrophysiologists to treat patients at high risk for stroke and those with heart rhythm conditions, such as atrial fibrillation. Our teams use the latest techniques and technologies to restore quality of life for heart patients.

Cardiopulmonary Rehab Gym

Cardiopulmonary Rehab Gym

Exercise is often part of a heart patient's rehabilitation. In our Cardiopulmonary Rehab Gym, you can work toward your recovery goals alongside nurses, therapists and exercise physiologists who monitor your progress and report back to your doctor. The gym’s location on the sixth floor of the heart hospital assures that emergency care is available on site, if needed.

Healing Therapies

Healing is more than a physical process – it's mental, emotional and spiritual, as well. Healing therapies, such as acupuncture, aromatherapy, healing touch and massage, complement traditional medical care and support your whole well-being. These therapies and others are available to heart hospital patients upon request.
