We know every second counts if your child has a medical emergency, which is why our physicians, nurses and team have gone through specialized pediatric training. We always have an expert team standing by 24/7 to care for your little one.
Our Children’s ER is equipped with expert staff and resources to ensure our pediatric ER provides a safe and family-centered emergency experience. Our Children’s Emergency Room is themed after River Street and boasts bright colors.
Our Children’s ER features 18 private rooms with televisions and cheerful colors to help our little patients stay calm. Our goal is to provide immediate bedding, which means you and your child will be taken directly to a private room as soon as one is available.
Our pediatric emergency physicians and pediatric nurses use medical equipment specially designed for children. We also have a dedicated child life team, providing support for families and communicating information in a way children can comprehend.
Our staff and physicians are specially trained to provide you and your family with high-quality pediatric care, following the guidelines for care set by the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Emergency Physicians and Emergency Nurses Association.
Diagnostic tests and procedures can sometimes cause nervousness and stress in children. To help your child feel as comfortable as possible, Memorial Health’s Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah created and staffed our pediatric imaging, sedation & infusion suite with their needs in mind. Our outpatient diagnostic imaging suite offers a full range of procedures to pediatric patients.
In addition to advanced imaging services, our Children's Hospital provides family-centered, compassionate care. For most exams, we encourage parents to stay in the exam room with their child to help relieve any anxiety they may have.
Some children must undergo imaging procedures that require them to remain perfectly still. To help with this, we offer pediatric sedation services Monday through Friday for radiology procedures, hematology and oncology procedures, muscular injections and other invasive procedures.
The pediatric imaging suite is equipped with the most advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with video capability for children to watch and listen to movies or music.
The pediatric imaging suite is equipped with the most advanced computerized tomography scan (CT). We also use radiation protection to make sure the imaging process is as safe as possible for your child.
Our X-ray machine is digital, meaning there is less radiation used than with traditional X-ray or computed radiography (CR), all done in a dedicated pediatric environment by staff that have gone through special training.
Our Children’s Hospital has four pediatric operating rooms with specialized surgical equipment designed just for kids. No matter what type of surgery your child needs, our pediatric surgical specialists understand the unique health needs of children. Our pediatric surgeons are experts in a wide range of pediatric specialties and are skilled in minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic surgery.
All of our same-day surgery and inpatient postoperative recovery rooms offer privacy to ensure restful healing. Our child life specialists help children understand what to expect prior to surgery.
We provide a child-friendly atmosphere with bright surroundings. Our child life specialists are available to help children and families prepare for and cope with the surgical process.
Sometimes kids have to be put to sleep to have a procedure or operation. Our Children’s Hospital has induction rooms where parents can be present while their child is put to sleep, reducing anxiety for the entire family.
Our Inpatient Surgical Unit is themed after Forsyth Park and is the purple color in our tree of colors. This unit helps support children who need to stay in the hospital after surgery.

From the elevator, you will see three wayfinding colors that take you to our Pediatric Unit (orange), Pediatric Specialty Unit (yellow) and Pediatric ICU (blue).
Our Pediatric Unit is themed after our marshes and is the orange color in our tree of colors. This unit helps support children with general medical conditions like diabetes, stomach bug, respiratory illness, dehydration and infection requiring IV antibiotics.
We have a chapel on the second floor that offers a quiet space for families to be able to reflect.

Our Pediatric Specialty Unit is themed after the city of Savannah and is the yellow color in our tree of colors. This unit helps support children with cancer and bleeding disorders and is HEPA filtered allowing for the cleanest air for our cancer patients.

Our Pediatric ICU is themed after Tybee Island and is the blue color in our tree of colors. This unit supports children who need critical care services.

Our playroom is a bright area to promote play for our patients. In addition, our child life specialists are able to provide medical play for our patients.
