Welcome to BVUBuena Vista translates to "beautiful view," which is something you’ll see every day on our scenic campus. Catch a group playing lawn golf near the Victory Arch, grab a canoe and paddle across the calm waters of Storm Lake after class, or gather in Schaller Chapel for an evening concert. What's more, the beauty of our campus is matched by a legacy of academic greatness. At BVU there is always something new to discover, both inside and outside the classroom. Don’t be surprised when your professor takes you to the lake or to the lawn to use campus as your classroom for the day!
Siebens ForumThe underground center of campus activity, Siebens Forum, buzzes with the students and professors who make up BVU's 9:1 student-to-faculty ratio. With fewer than 20 students in most classes, knowledgeable and expert professors provide the personal education and attention that you need. One path in Siebens Forum takes you to the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business, while others take you to classrooms, career services and professional development, campus dining, and the coffee shop. Coffee break, anyone?
BVU LibraryDon't let this quiet space fool you; within the bookshelves and study rooms you can research the results of your favorite NBA teams' media coverage for your Scholars Day project, or even look into the history of fresco paintings in preparation for a semester abroad in Italy! You will come to the library for challenging group discussion, to get help discovering research materials, or to find a corner of your own to study for your favorite class. With expert librarians, databases, and books galore, BVU students have nearly limitless resources to help them on their quest for scholastic excellence.
Estelle Siebens Science CenterWithin the Estelle Siebens Science Center, academic curiosity comes to life. A unique combination of hands-on research opportunities, top-notch equipment, and computer science projects lead students to top internships and careers. Walk into the glass atrium, affectionately referred to as "the beaker," and peek into one of the world-class labs to see the collaboration between students and faculty within BVU's five interdisciplinary fields of science: biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and physics. The entire facility is energy-efficient and a best-in-class green building.
Lage Communications CenterBefore students begin their internships and careers with the Minnesota Vikings or O Magazine, many of them exercise their journalism skills for the online newspaper The Tack (winner of many national awards), get behind the microphone for the campus radio station KBVU, and create and star in shows for the University Cable Network. Lage Communications Center is the hub for digital media and embraces experiential learning, not only for digital media majors, but for all students seeking a creative outlet. As early as freshman year, students get their hands on the digital equipment and get creative right away.
Social Sciences and Art HallAmong the mounted student paintings, a workshop filled with ceramic pieces in the making, and a 2D art studio are professors dedicated to the examination of our changing world. They will challenge your higher-level thinking skills, and immerse you into a world of philosophy, religion, and social sciences as they foster transformational learning and welcome questions of all sorts. The Social Science and Art Hall also boasts welcoming, comfortable spaces and classrooms where groups such as Beaver Animal Rescue & Care meet.
Siebens FieldhouseThe score is tied with ten seconds to go. You snag the rebound and race to the other end of the court. But just as you're about to go in for the layup, your opponent cuts you off. Bodies collide. Your loyal, home crowd tenses, then bursts into a roaring applause as the shot sinks through the net. It's all possible in Siebens Fieldhouse, where students continue what they loved in high school by participating in one of 19 IIAC sports. Whether you're an all-star point guard or simply like to stay active through intramurals, our facility has something for everyone: fitness center, six-lane pool, racquetball courts, wrestling room, and much more.
Peterson FieldGrab your friends, get on your feet, and cheer the Beavers on to victory! With our student athletes on the field and a gorgeous lakeside view, this is the finest place to watch and play a game in Iowa. Athletes and fans enjoy a synthetic turf field, polyurethane eight-lane track, and an incredible game day atmosphere. The state of the art facility brings fans of all ages together to create thrilling memories. Go Beavers!

Storm LakeThe City of Storm Lake and BVU's academic community boast a strong, cooperative relationship that folds students into the community through part-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Nearly 11,000 people live around the lake’s waters and enjoy a fantastic waterpark, fishing, kayak rides, sunset views, and winter sports.
